Truly the best sushi around!! The Shige family has created such a lovely environment! They welcome & treat you like family as they provide the most incredible food & service in the Valley. The pictures speak for themselves as there are no words to aptly depict their wonderful creations!! Yuki is so friendly & funny! He is a fantastic chef & it's amazing to see his work! Netta is such a delight & we love seeing her beautiful smile! We come here hungry & leave with full tummies & warm hearts!!!
I've been coming to Shige's for over 20 years! The food is always great, the servers are nice, and you can't beat the prices. While the downtown Boise location was best (and closed years ago), don't let the Express location in Meridian deter you. It's lowkey but everything is still ready good. Also know that the menu at the restaurant is much more extensive than what you'll find online.
Came by again to try the rotary sushi instead of just ordering off the menu and was NOT disappointed. All the plates were delicious, and the sushi chef Yuki kept up awesome banter while making sure to ask my wife and I exactly what we wanted. Because it was pretty slow, he constantly checked in with us about preferences and ingredients to make sure we weren't getting things we didn't like, and I REALLY appreciate that. There was a couple sitting by us that kept asking for more spicy food, and Yuki was doing a phenomenal job getting them progressively more and more spicy items. The waitress were very nice when we spoke to them, but mostly stayed out of the way - I don't know if it's because we weren't sitting at a table. When I asked for a refill though it was brought promptly, so I think when you sit at the sushi island you're more expected to speak up rather than wait to, well, be waited on : ) Again, thank you Yuki for the phenomenal experience and for being so attentive. I've found my favorite sushi chef in the valley : )
Food was absolutely amazing as well as the chefs and waitresses were so sweet and amazing, i never felt rushed and the chef made some roll specifically for me and my friend (it was slow during this time idk if they do that consistently). The place was also just beautiful. As well as cheap for the quality of food.
I didn't know you could get sushi on a conveyor boat in Boise but here we are. Yup, I said "conveyor boat." The bar area has a water feature moat that goes around. They put dishes on the boat and it makes its way around. Their lunch menu had a good selection and the owners were super friendly. We even got a free cup of miso soup. The sushi tasted fresh and was good. It's a great place to be for a quick lunch. It doesn't look like they have an AYCE option but things might have changed since I was last there.
The boats are back!!! Friday and Saturday's! Remember, sushi the way you want it! Always great to have Shige himself, Deborah and the team are so caring and fun!! Awesome!
First time here. Came here for my birthday dinner. Good service and the sushi was excellent. We will definitely be back.
This place is by far the best sushi restaurant I have ever tried. I have traveled across dozen states and country ( including Japan) and this is by far my favorite!!! Who would've known it would be in Idaho?! Family owned restaurant. The service is by far AMAZING!!!! And the food is soooooo delicious!!!!!!!!! We spent the afternoon trying everything !!!!!! Absolutely love this place!!!!!
